Watch it here!
For a show starring the famous X-Files actor David Duchovny, this show is about as far away from X-Files as possible. But, I guess that's to be expected considering the fact that actors usually try to break away from the perceptions that people have about them and blah blah blah.
This hidden gem of a show is awesome because it's so real. Duchovny stars as Hank Moody, a current bachelor who's a famous author, living in California. For some reason, even though he's an author (of books), a lot of people seem to know who he is, and he seems to be semi-famous.
The show follows the trials and tribulations he has overcoming alcoholism and the balance of trying to make his on-and-off-again girlfriend and daughter happy. The show has a rather depressing plot line, but for some reason, is extremely funny.
The Hank Moody character says what is on his mind, at all times. That's one of the best parts about the show. After a short while, you realize that the main character is one of the most charismatic and witty characters you've ever seen (especially in a TV show), and it really helps bring the tone to something that doesn't make it miserable.
Very rarely on the show do I feel uncomfortable due to the awful circumstances, simply because Duchovny's character has such a way of making the most out of the worst, in a sort of anarchistic-mindset kind of way.

I’m really excited to catch all the new happenings. Aren’t you? I feel you guys are getting a bit nostalgic about the earlier episodes of the show. Incase you’re missing them badly, watch Californication Episodes online.
Absolutely! I had wanted to check out the show, so when it arrived on streaming I immediately checked it out. From the first scene in episode one I was pretty sure I was going to enjoy the show, and I did. And since watching season one I have rented the season two and season three discs. Season two was very strong. Season three was very weak, but still enjoyable; it piqued during the last two episodes. Definitely check it out. But beware that there is plenty of foul language, adult themes, sex and nudity.
